SCORECARD HERE
An excellent all round team performance led Fylde to a
comfortable first win over the season over newly promoted BAC/EE
Preston.
With the FCG looking a picture in the sun, Fylde batted first on
a flat looking track, with openers Moore and Willis striding to the
crease in confident mood. This however did not last long, as the BAC
opening bowler managed to bowl one at the stumps first up to Mr
Willis, who continued with his policy of always leaving the first
ball of a match and promptly had his off stump rearranged to leave
the board at 0-1.
Darren Mckenzie came in with consolidation the order of the day
however he continued his form from last week, punishing anything
remotely loose, including taking the visiting skipper for 20 in an
over. Moore at the other end drove the ball well to leave Fylde well
set for a high score with the board reading 67-1 until Mckenzie mishit a drive and was 'caught' at mid off.
Mike Watkinson arrived at the crease and looked solid from the
off, and led to BAC introducing their change bowlers and pushing the
field out, allowing the total to tick along nicely with the odd
boundary mixed in, including a large MAXIMUM from the bat of Moore
over the scorebox. After bringing up 50 Moore proceeded to sky a
rank half tracker to the legside sweeper to leave Fylde at 104-3.
Dave Crawforth came in and immediately struck the ball well all
around the wicket, combining finesse with three maximums as the
partnership put on 127 for the 4th wicket, with both bringing up
their first 50s of the season before Watkinson was caught for 62.
With Crawforth within sight of a ton, Lodge managed to extract some
movement and Crawforth was bowled for an excellent 86. Dan Candlish
hit a run a ball 16 at the end of the innings, with Fylde racking up
one of their highest totals in recent years, but such was the
quality of the pitch and the speed of the outfield that Fylde
couldn't afford to be complacent in the second half.
The BAC reply started well with opener Unsworth in excellent
form, firing 84 in just 68 balls in an opening stand of 101 before
the first wicket fell, with Hague cleaning up the other opener for a
dour 19. Wickets then fell at regular intervals, including the vital
wicket of Unsworth, caught well off the spin bowling of Mckenzie.
The rest of the BAC order offered little resistance, with only Jamie
Skeoch passing 30, although he was given a life early on when a
clear nick through to the keeper was not detected by the umpire.
Hague returned to pick up two wickets during a fairly drab final
10 overs, in which the only real entertainment provided was Paul
Willis being seemingly adamant that the game had to be finished by
7.30, which led to the rest of the lads running round like idiots
for three of four overs before the realisation that the actual
latest finish time was 8. For this, plus his batting, WOW was duly
awarded.

SCORECARD HERE
Fylde's second team carried on from the previous week with
another impressive win over Fulwood. Bowling first, Fulwood were
never allowed to settle and were bundled out for 134 in 39 overs,
with Joe Mcmillan and Ant Ellison the chief tormentors with 4
wickets each.
In reply, Fylde found themselves three wickets down early on
before a match winning partnership between Will Norris (49*) and
Chris Boyes (54*) led the team comfortably to victory within 40
overs.

Fylde 3rd XI - 205-9 (R.Galligan 42, N.Cross

Thornton 4th XI - 90ao
FYLDE WON BY 115 RUNS
A much strengthened Third eleven crushed Thornton at Millfield
School. Runs throughout the order led to Fylde racking up a big
score of 205, which a youthful Thornton side never looked likely to
get, with only veteran Gerald Brown passing 30 as they fell well
short of the target.

SUNDAY TEAM REPORT
Great Eccleston Sunday XI - 179-9
Fylde Sunday XI - 180-8 (K.Moore 66)
FYLDE WON BY 2 WICKETS
Fylde just about got the better of Great Eccleston in an
entertaining Sunday fixture, played in front of a healthy Moorland
Road crowd.
Fylde elected to bowl first and made early inroads into the Great
Eccleston order, with youngsters Morrison, Williams and Ardron all
picking up a wicket each in impressive spells of medium pace.
Opposition skipper Will Thistlethwaite, batting down the order, gave
Fylde something to chase with a barrage of attacking strokes in the
last 10 overs, passing 50 in the process.
The Fylde reply was solid until wickets began to fall before
Galligan and Moore provided some clean hitting to get the score over
100 before Galligan played one shot too many and was caught. Captain
Ellison played and missed 15 times before he too was sent packing
back to the pavilion, swiftly followed by the unfortunate Josh
Williams who got a fast yorker first ball. This brought young Tom
Morrison to the crease and he held his own in a partnership of 50,
batting with the maturity of somebody twice his age! Moore was
dismissed with the scores level for 66, which left Joe Calvert to
strike the winning runs.
