Garstang 1st XI - DNB
MATCH ABANDONED - RAIN
FULL
SCORECARD HERE
Fylde were denied a chance of back to back victories after rain
brought an abrupt end to their match at Garstang at the half way
stage.
With rain forecast, Garstang won the toss on a green wicket and
inserted Fylde with early assistance for the bowlers looking highly
likely. However, as in the opening two weeks, the Fylde batting
line-up fired from the off with Moore and Willis tucking into some
loose deliveries from the Garstang openers to leave the score on
43-0 after 7 overs. Spin was introduced, but this too received the
treatment as the opening partnership rattled along to 98 before
Moore tried a shot too many and was caught in the deep for 55.
Jennings was soon after brought into the attack for Garstang as
Willis passed 50 and Darren Mckenzie began to look settled, but
wickets then began to fall regularly with both caught off Jennings
and Watkinson then trapped LBW as the scoreboard stuttered as just
50 runs were added in the last 14 overs.
The heavens then opened with 43 overs gone and whilst there was
hope for a certain time that play would be resumed, a torrential
bout of rain at about 5.30 left the ground unplayable. Fylde
collected full batting bonus points to take 5 from the match and
Garstang 4.

SCORECARD HERE
The second team continued their winning start to the season and
moved within 2 points of the top of the table with a convincing win
over Great Eccleston.
On yet another hard & true surface at Moorland Road, Great
Eccleston batted first but Fylde made early inroads with Joe
Mcmillan picking up the vital wickets of Omar Butt and former Fylde
player Carl Slade. All the bowlers kept things tight with Mcmillan,
Ant Ellison and Chris Boyes all bowling accurately for long spells
with wickets collected regularly to restrict Great Eccleston to a par score of 207, with extras coming in 3rd top
scorer at 23.
In reply, Fylde were positive throughout, with openers Phil
Taylor and Chris Brambles scoring 31 and 25 respectively, before
both were dismissed along with Chris Boyes who went for single
figures. Joe Mcmillan became Murray De Banke's third victim,
bringing together Will Norris and Andy Sykes who put together an
entertaining match winning stand to easy the side to victory with a
massive 8 overs to spare. Both finished unbeaten, with Norris on 74
and Sykes on 62.

3RD TEAM REPORT
Fylde 3rd XI - 165-8 (P.Brambles 30,
R.Kilner 53*)
Vernon Carus 4th XI - 157ao (P.Brambles 5-64)
FYLDE WON BY 8 RUNS
The third team recorded back to back victories courtesy of a win
over Vernon Carus 4ths. Young Robin Kilner produced an excellent
knock of 53 not out to lead Fylde to a decent score of 165, with
Phil Brambles next top scorer on 30. Vernon Carus looked favourites
for long periods of the reply, but crucial wickets at the right
times allowed Fylde to complete a narrow win by 8 runs, with Phil
Brambles taking 5-64 to round off a fine individual performance.
