In recent months initial conversations have taken place about potentially merging Wyre Cricket Club into Fylde Cricket Club following the conclusion of the 2022 season. The key aim of this would be to create one strong and sustainable cricket club to serve the town of Poulton-le-Fylde, offering the best cricketing and social experience possible to members.

These talks have now progressed to a more advanced stage and an agreement in principle is in place for this move to go ahead. Therefore we have now decided to officially make members of both clubs aware of these conversations and advise what the next stages of the process will be.

In the coming weeks, the two clubs are due to hold a further meeting to get into more detailed discussions around the logistics and practicalities of completing the process. Once that is concluded, a more formal proposal will be presented by each club at an EGM to allow members to ask any questions and vote on whether they would like the move to go ahead. We hope to reach this point within the next 4-6 weeks.
